Now, he can't stand the dang thing and will only sleep while the car is in motion. I swear, every red light or stop sign he is up and making noise. Sometimes it's just the gentle squeels [ok, not so gentle, still cute. for now.] or simply the loud, sad, cries that occur at every. stopped. moment. I swear- he either hates the carseat/driving/stopping, or just wants to see how long it takes before I go crazy.
I also have never been able to enjoy the whole "bring your sleeping baby inside by just carrying in the carseat so he will stay sleeping." It doesn't happen in this home. I am fairly certain my son has ESP. or some kind of spidey sense, or just the normal human sense, that tells him we are HERE [wherever here is], and it's time to wake up!
Pretty much, the infant carrier has been useless. I leave it in the car because it's so dang heavy, and I refuse to be the mom that carries the baby in the thing everywhere. I have my ergo and I definitely use it.
So, now that Nathan has better head control and stronger muscles, I will be swapping out his infant seat with his big boy convertible seat. I am hoping he will be a bit more comfortable in it and cry a little less during car rides. Cross your fingers! I am also excited to have the carseats matching. Why? I don't know. I am a little ocd like that, perhaps. I just need some decent weather so I can make the transition without getting wet, as I have no garage and autumn seems to have arrived. Thank you La Nina.
