Enjoying some time with the adults

Over the weekend I was able to finally get out and enjoy some much needed adult time. It was my best friend's birthday, so we went to dinner at Departure, and followed that up with drinks at the adjacent bar, Urban Farmer. They are both located at The Nines hotel, and if you haven't been- I highly recommend hitting Urban Farmer for their happy hour. Departure is visually stunning and the atmosphere is incredible. The food was good, too, though a bit spendy and a small plate style.

My drink recommendation for those who must abstain from alcohol is definitely the dry soda at Urban Farmer. They have both lavendar and a lemon zest, though I only imbibed the lavender kind. It was delicious, and helped me fit right in with the champagne glass!

I had a fabulous time, and was reminded just how much I adore my girlfriends.
These moments I cherish, too

Maxi-Cosi Mico Infant Carseat

It took 12 long days to be shipped from Albeebaby.com, but well worth the wait!

Finally, my much anticipated carseat has arrived and I couldn't be more excited! I really think this arrival has pushed the excitement level up a notch.

To begin, the shipping weight was a mere 10 lbs! According to some websites, the carrier itself weighs about 8 lbs, but I'm not buying that and will have to get to a scale to prove my point at a later date. The base itself seems heavier than the actual carseat, so I will have to update on that.
I would like to point out that my mico does not have the much-dreaded puzzle buckle, like the Quinny Buzz and Zapp have. Whether this is something new to the carseat or not, I am not sure. I was unsure when I ordered it because I could not find a decent photo showing the buckle, but to my surprise the buckle is actually very similar to Graco or Evenflo's buckle systems (see photos).

I am also very happy with the pattern. My initial interest was the all black version, but this style, magic rose, was on sale for a low $99.99 (compared to $169.99), so I jumped right on it. I am very pleased with my choice, as it really is beautiful, and could even be considered gender neutral.

I have yet to actually use this magnificent looking thing, so for now it sits in my living room to stare at impatiently, but as soon as the little man arrives I will be sure to update!
